WOW!!

“Is there any reason to suppose that those whose love for Christ was lukewarm on earth will suddenly love him passionately in heaven? If disciples are preoccupied with boats, houses, and stock markets on the earth, how do we know they will not preoccupied with streets of gold and jeweled crowns in heaven – if those disciples are in heaven at all?

Put another way, there is more – always more – to holiness than that which we already possess.  For it is faith, and not heaven, that is the substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen.  We should not, then, be comfortable on earth with any love for Jesus other than that which will seem ordinary in heaven.  For holiness is the love of Jesus.”

The time to truly love HIM is NOW!!

God is Awesome

Well, I told myself that if I started a blog then I would post regularly and here we are a month or more after my last one.  Good job Josh.  Anyway, God has been rocking my world the past few months and I thought I would share.

This past weekend Keisha(my beautiful fiance) and I drove to the wonderful state of Delaware to help with a youth retreat at Kenneth and Sherry Wagner’s church.  Derik Idol was the speaker for the weekend (stud by the way) and he absolutely brought the house down.  God has annointed him in a special way.

When Kenneth went to Delaware this past summer, his prayer was that 50 students would have accepted Christ by February 1st.  Saturday night, we had an amazing service and God was really working on some students lives and mine.  Long story short, 8 students made first time commitments, which put the number for those accepting Christ right at 50.

How INCREDIBLE is the GOD we serve?  This has been on my heart and mind since we left Delaware and I can’t stop thinking about it.  God is rocking some people’s worlds and I know he is surely not finished.

When I was a kid, my parents would let my sister and me rent a movie every once and a while.  Now we wouldn’t rent the movie and just watch it once.  We would watch it multiple times.  I guess we thought we had to get our moneys worth.

In most movies there is always something that happens that is terrible.  Let’s take for example a scary movie.  You always have that one curious girl that walks through the house in the dark and you know that danger is waiting around the corner because you have seen the movie before.  We sit there and scream at the television telling that person to run away as if the people can hear us.

I wonder if God looks at our lives the same way.  He knows the danger is coming and he knows how catastrophic the consequences of our decision will be.  The good news is, unlike the television, we can hear God telling us to run away from that dangerous or tempting situation.  We must realize that God knows what is best and he will never direct us in the wrong direction.

My First Blog

So I’m sitting here thinking about all of the people that I know who have a blog.  Up until now I thought of blogging as a thing for people who were either already working or were not in college and had nothing better to do with their time:)  Well, I don’t have a job and I am in college, but college students always need something to do at 1:00am in the morning.  My fiance started a blog about two years ago; she posted a blog twice and never touched it again.  I hope that I can do a little better than that.  Now that I have started a blog, I hope that my mind will be flooded with awesome blogging ideas and I can show people a glimpse of how my crazy mind works and thinks.
